David clearly needed professional help to help him achieve his potential so we decided to leave the USIA and go back to the US.  Mary Ann stayed in Panachal, Guatemala while I went back to Washington, DC in March and then explored the option of returning to U.C. - Berkeley for the Ph.D. or possibly to the University of Wisconsin at Madison.  I selected U.W. at Madison for the Ph.D. in Sociology and Social Institutions.  Mary Ann and David joined me once I had an apartment and had all furniture moved in.
